CUSTOM Applied epic Reports

CUSTOM APPLIED EPIC REPORTS

Applied Epic has tremendous reporting functionality that your insurance agency can leverage to improve its operational efficiency and drive process improvement. Although Epic comes with a variety of ready-to-use reports, taking the time to create custom reports that will meet your agency’s specific needs can provide great benefits in the long run.

The KiteTech Applied Epic Consulting team can work with your agency to help you clarify your needs and identify the reports required for your specific objectives. Additionally, we can help you create an automated process to ensure deliverability of your reports to the appropriate members of your team.

There are a myriad of Applied Epic reports that will be valuable to agencies today, some of the most beneficial ones include:

Book of Business Report

You can filter a Book of Business report to show what has been written with a specific carrier or broker. You can also filter by Producer to view what they have written, or by Account Manager to view what accounts they service. The Book of Business report is crucial to keep track of what your agency has written within a certain time period and can also be modified for use in auditing your data.

Expiration Report

This report will help you find policies that are either coming up for renewal or have expired and were never renewed in Epic. Most often agencies run this report 120, 90 or 60 days prior to expiration and schedule it for delivery at the beginning of each month; you can also add it to Report Quick View for Account Managers to review in real time. Expiration Reports can also be modified to make sure policy applications are being moved through the various Service Summary Row Policy Stages in a timely manner – if you find that a policy remains In Process or Submitted for over 60 days, that could mean a workflow is not being fully completed

Activity Report

You should run this report to see which accounts have overdue activities to make sure workflows are being followed and completed in a timely manner. Like many reports, you can modify this report for other purposes including:

  • Marketing/Quoting with carriers
  • Non-Pay Notices
  • Workload Balancing

Data and Procedural Auditing

To ensure that data is being correctly entered into Epic, and workflows are consistently followed, it is recommended to run reports to audit your data to find any discrepancies which can assist in determining if additional training or workflow updates are needed. You can modify the same reports mentioned above for auditing your data, which we recommend running and reviewing on a regular basis:

  • Activity Report – for finding policies with open Activities that should be closed, review activity notes (are they being documented on?), are the correct activities being used?
  • Book of Business Report – for finding missing data fields (Pr/Br Commission, Agency Commission, Servicing Roles, Estimated Premium/Commission, etc.).
  • Expiration Report – for finding policies that were never reviewed in Epic, or policies that are still In Process/Submitted stage over 60 days.
  • Policies with No Transactions – a default report under Policy, will help you find policies that do not have transactions entered
  • Verify Policy Commissions-Producer/Broker Agreements – a default report under Policy, use to verify that the policy has the correct Pr/Br agreement selected
  • Data Review-Confirm Clients with No Active Policies Filter – found as a default report under Account, can be run on a regular basis to find accounts with no active policies that need to be inactivated
