Outsourced Agency Bookkeeper – Applied Epic

Full-Time | Remote

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to join the KiteTech Agency Consulting Team! The purpose of the Outsourced Agency Bookkeeper position is to provide high-quality bookkeeping services for KiteTech’s insurance agency clients who do not have the internal resources to hire or manage accounting staff.

This position requires previous bookkeeping experience within an insurance agency using Applied Epic.

This position works in collaboration with the KiteTech Bookkeeping Team Lead to understand client needs and execute bookkeeping services effectively. This role includes access to accounting expertise and management support, while requiring strong self-management, organization, curiosity, and ownership of daily work. The right person is comfortable asking questions, receiving feedback, figuring things out, and knowing when to ask for help.

Expectations and Responsibilities

Work with the KiteTech Bookkeeping Team Lead to understand each agency’s bookkeeping needs and establish an appropriate service schedule.

Independently perform key bookkeeping tasks including entering receipts/disbursements, reconciling premium payables, direct bill commission recording, reconciling bank statements, payroll recording, and performing month-end closing tasks, like journal entries and monthly financial reporting.

Manage company, broker, and vendor payables and/or work with client to coordinate payments.

Stay current on Applied Epic bookkeeping best practices and follow established KiteTech standards when performing client bookkeeping tasks.

Communicate clearly and professionally with clients through various platforms, using good judgment to resolve issues or ask for help when needed.

Look beyond the task at hand to identify discrepancies, unanswered questions, or issues needing attention.

Work collaboratively with teammates, share knowledge, and be receptive to feedback and different perspectives.

Document work activities in real time to track progress and support accurate client billing.

Non-Negotiable Candidate Requirements

2+ years of bookkeeping experience within an insurance agency using Applied Epic is required.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.

Experience successfully working independently, as well as collaboratively in a remote environment.

Able to stay organized, communicate clearly, and support clients professionally.

Comfortable using virtual meeting tools to support a professional remote client experience.

Dedicated, distraction- free workspace with reliable hard-wired high-speed internet.

Self-motivated, curious, adaptable, and accountable, with a willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and continue learning.

Takes ownership of problems, uses good judgment, and focuses on finding the right solution.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $45,000 – $52,000 based on experience
Health: KiteTech pays 80% of total premium for employee and family
Flexible Vacation Hours
